US$ 3Bn Coal Company IPO

AWR Lloyd acted as Company Advisor to an energy group on the IPO of its Indonesian coal business on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. AWR Lloyd provided a detailed valuation analysis, a financial plan to determine funding requirements and offer size, a report outlining the rationale for the IPO for internal approval and as the basis for investor communication and an investor relations strategy. AWR Lloyd supported the client in arranging beauty contests for the investment banks and other advisors and provided a scoring mechanism. AWR Lloyd provided comments and second opinions on final offer pricing and advised on key aspects of Indonesian regulatory risk. AWR Lloyd provided an investor roadshow presentation and comments on the IPO prospectus – and monitored the progress of the whole transaction for the client. The IPO raised US$340 million and resulted in an initial market capitalization of US$2.4

Regional Power Business Master Plan

AWR Lloyd advised Petronas on the development of a regional power master plan, covering the execution of entry strategies and research on the power market structure, regulatory framework and potential market entry of selected countries. We also provided them with a power plant database of selected countries, benchmarking with other incumbents that are exposed to similar assets as well as lessons learnt from successes and failures in the industry.

Energy Master Plan Advisory

In Cambodia, AWR Lloyd provided a study for the country’s Energy Masterplan, an assignment sponsored by BG (British Gas) and the Cambodian National Petroleum Authority. AWR Lloyd completed work for two new oil and gas terminal and storage projects in Cambodia.

Downstream Oil Venture Capital Raising

AWR Lloyd advised a new Southeast Asian energy storage and logistics venture with projects in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia to raise $200 million.

AWR Lloyd has been advisor to the Singapore subsidiary of one of the world’s leading oil trading companies since 2006 in relation to their physical and derivatives trading strategies in Thailand and Vietnam. We have also helped them secure long term storage contracts in Thailand.
